Kelli and Eddie are headed home for the Holidays!

I am so grateful that Kelli and Eddie are headed home really soon. I am even more grateful that this has been a great semester for both of them. Kelli, now a sophomore at USD is excelling at her classwork, socially as a Kappa Kappa Gama and has a job working for the administration on campus. Way to go Kelli!!! Eddie is just ending his first semester at Berklee College of Music in Boston. The verdict is in and Eddie loves the whole gig! The unique music college environment, playing his horn, learning to sing and the academic parts as well. I can't wait to listen to you play that horn! Boston is a ways away but we've stayed in touch in so many ways and I think this California kid will make it through the wind and cold. Two kids happy in college that's priceless!!! I love you both so much and can't wait to give you big hugs and lots of them. JZ

Awesome Holiday Spirit!

The Holidays are approaching and I am so Grateful for my wifes Holiday Spirit! Growing up in the family swimming pool business I didn't always have this kind of spirit. Honestly it was more of a Bah Humbug, the weather was turning wet which makes it hard to build pools and customer wallets were headed to the mall not to put in a hole in their backyard. I learned to duct tape a smile to my face and pray for spring. Then, along came Alyson and her abounding holiday spirit. It's impossible not to get caught up in her enthusiasm of decorating the house, having special gifts under the tree and planning wonderful events to share with our family and friends. There are a million reasons that I am grateful to have Alyson in my life and this is certainly the best season to enjoy her beautiful smile!

The Key to Wealth is Gratitude!

Master Kim of the National Hapkido Center brought this to light for me and many young students. He asked what the key to wealth was, did anybody know? There were several materialistic responses but not the one he was after. Then he explained Gratitude, if you are grateful for everything you have then you have everything you need. Too many time we all miss this idea and focus on more stuff. When we should be focused on relationships and experiences not stuff. Give it a try and let me know what you think. I will be sharing many things in my life that I am grateful for with you. Here we go!!!
